Ice Cream Cones & Murals: Couples Shoot in Mt Pleasant
When I found out my good buddies Dylan and Chris didn’t have any pictures together, I knew I had to change that asap! We found a perfect summer day to toodle around Mount Pleasant, one of my favourite neighbourhoods in Vancouver to shoot in.
There are so many weird murals around Mount Pleasant that make for colourful backdrops. They knew about a few that they wanted to see, and the rest of them we just found by chance. The sun was also at that perfect late afternoon height to give everything a beautiful, lazy day glow.
Since we were in the neighbourhood, we obviously had to hit up Earnest Ice Cream for a sweet treat during our photoshoot, and I was able to get a couple candid shots of them through the window. Some of my favourite photos are the ones like these that capture couples at their most natural, where they can just be themselves.
As the sun began to set, we found a picnic area where we enjoyed our ice cream and got some more fun shots of these two cutie pies being cute. We then walked a few more blocks where we still managed to find more funky murals before calling it a day.
I strive to make these photoshoots exactly like this one: choosing a location that is special to each couple and then just letting them be themselves while having a low-key, fun afternoon. Having such good friends like Dylan and Chris to model for me is just a bonus.
