Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine & Sound Therapy: Clinic Photos for Dr. Judy Chee

Nestled in the heart of East Vancouver on Commercial Drive is one of the most inviting green heritage homes I’ve ever seen. In the spring time you have to pass through an arch of wisteria to get to the front door, where you are always greeted by a smiling face. This is the headquarters of Dr. Judy Chee, a Registered Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncturist, and Sound Therapy Practitioner.

I have been a big fan of Dr. Judy Chee’s for many years now - she was referred to me by another health care provider and I am so grateful for the introduction. Dr. Chee has helped me with a myriad of ailments including (but not limited to) insomnia, anxiety, tendonitis, after-surgery care, and acute/chronic pain. Her work and specialized knowledge speaks for itself, but combined with just being a 10/10 human, I have followed her as a patient over 3 separate clinic spaces across the city.

I have had the absolute pleasure of photographing Dr. Chee in action twice now, and this most recent photoshoot was to document her new clinic space on the Drive. The space is inherently beautiful, with lots of bright natural light, warm wood and vintage features. It was the backdrop for an extremely successful business photoshoot.

Naturally I did her makeup and hair for this branding photography session. We decided on a natural and professional look- long soft waves and glowy neutral makeup.

Here is a little bit of background on Dr. Judy Chee:

“Dr. Judy Chee is a second generation Chinese Canadian born and raised in so-called East Vancouver, a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncturist and sound healer. Having completed a Doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver and an internship at Tzu Chi Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan, she is grateful and honoured to practice a cultural medicine of her ancestors.

She strives to make her patients feel heard and listened to. Dr. Chee is meticulous at describing treatments and treatment plans that are catered to unique individualistic needs. Your comfort is the utmost priority and acupuncture naps are her speciality!

In a typical session with Dr. Chee, she may use one or more of the modalities listed under the umbrella term of Traditional Chinese Medicine. These include: Acupuncture, electro-stimulation acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, Chinese herbal medicine, and food therapy recommendations.”

As a patient and pal, I can’t recommend her enough. She is an absolute pleasure to work with and be around, both as a receiver of TCM/acupuncture and a photographer. Her attention to detail, devotion to your comfort, and wide breadth of knowledge always leave me feeling like I’m in good hands and having received the best care possible. Nothing pleases me more than providing beautiful headshots and doing makeup and hair for someone that I think so highly of.

Can’t sleep? Go see Judy. Does your body hurt? Go see Judy. Feeling anxious? Go see Judy. Want to treat yourself with a facial that leaves your skin glowing? Go see Judy!!

Thank you Dr. Judy Chee for all that you do!
